Law Preview prepared me remarkably well for law school. I had no idea what to expect coming to law school and law preview showed me important tips to succeed. I found that some of the most helpful tools were the Law Preview tips on how to work out your schedule and how to brief cases effectively. Also, it was really helpful that I came to law school already understanding some of the most important cases in each first year subject. Overall Law Preview was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it highly to any incoming first year law students.

There are so many law school legends about the first year of law school - enough to put the fear of God in you. Law Preview took away that fear. I absolutely recommend Law Preview to anyone planning to attend law school.

It was during final exams where what I learned in Law Preview kicked in. My groups outlines were
great and my exam prep and answers really improved when I used your techniques. I ended up in the top 12%, ranked 22 out of 185 at Campbell Law. Thanks for your help with the program. I appreciate your encouragement for the coming exams.

Law Preview not only introduced me to a number of cases that were discussed in my first semester, but it also provided an opportunity to become comfortable with the terminology and style of learning required for law school. Where many other students in my class struggled to learn how to read cases and brief them, I could concentrate on the substance of what I was learning. This is soley attributable to my experience with Law Preview. My parents are still saying that Law Preview was some of the best educational money they have ever spent.

It created a sense of 'ease' before I entered law school. The hardest part for entering 1Ls is the uncertainty that lies ahead. Law Preview took away that uncertainty which gave me an advantage over my peers on day one. [Ranked #1 out of 155 after first semester].

Law Preview prepared me for what I could expect to face in law school. I felt prepared for the work load and I felt as though I was given a road map of how to achieve success. I appreciate the calendars I was provided as well as the case brief templates. I use the templates for my briefs and I always feel organized.

I have many good things to say about Law Preview, and I also got the grades to show that I applied what I learned there. . . . I attribute a great deal of my academic success (first semester Dean’s Honor List) to your program. The strengths of Law Preview for me included the emphasis on briefing, examination preparation, and the availability of a law student for questions and interaction. My briefs during my first semester were higher quality than my classmates because practicing during Law Preview made me able to pick out the important points of cases and thus be well-prepared for class. Our discussions at Law Preview about how to take law school exams made me feel confident, and this cool-headedness allowed me to focus on writing good answers instead of panicking and writing rambling and unorganized essays. Lastly for purposes of this letter, but definitely not the last advantage – there were too many to write in this letter – was being able to ask [your student assistant] questions. She was available to answer all those “stupid questions†I didn’t want to ask in class, and she made me feel like I knew what I was getting myself into. This is stark contrast to the average 1L who has no idea what to expect.

I'm not sure what my rank is. My school only ranks 1Ls at the end of the academic year. My grades after first semester were: A in Contracts, A in Crim Law and A- in Torts. The top 10% gets A's and the next 15% get A-'s. . . . I am very happy that I attended Law Preview for the following reasons: practice reading and briefing cases; having some briefs already written at the beginning of law school; knowing what some of the seminal cases are about in each subject area; getting it beaten into my head that I need to actually brief all the cases (which I did); doing the reading two days ahead so I never got behind, even if something came up; learning about reporter names, how to tell where a case is from, research strategies; having the confidence at the beginning of the semester that I knew what I was doing . . . Being in Law Preview was really exciting because it confirmed for me that I find the law interesting and that law school was the right decision for me. Also, having confidence at the beginning of the semester is a huge advantage. Even if by the end of the semester it seemed like everyone else was comfortable with the material, etc., I still think I benefited by being calmer/more confident right from the beginning.

It helped me learn how to approach and brief cases for their maximum educational value, while building confidence in my abilities to be a successful law student.

I think that Law Preview helped be to really develop the basics that are absolutely essential to succeeding in the first year of law school. I found advice regarding when to start your outlines, planning ahead and time management to be extremely valuable. Law school is all about staying on top of everything and I think that Law Preview teaches you how to accomplish that.

I think what helped me the most was the fact that I had a good idea of what I would be facing in law school. Law Preview gave me insights as to how to read for class, how to study for finals, and probably most importantly what my law professors would be looking for. I think all of my classmates eventually learned what I had learned over the summer but I was able hit the ground running the first day of orientation. I also knew what activites I needed to avoid so I could dedicate myself my first year. Finally, there were little bits and pieces of advice that I would remember throughout the year that kept me going when I felt overwhelmed.

The most valuable aspects of Law Preview included the overall introduction it gave me to the 1L curriculum; Prof. Scordato's tips on first year success and exam preparation; and my first experience with the Socratic method. For many 1L's, the biggest hurdle they'll need to overcome is their own anxiety. I was one such 1L. Law Preview gave me a safe forum to ask questions, explore options and network with other students in the same situation as myself.

I haven't received an A in ages, and after my first semester at law school I certainly didn't expect to see multiple As. But there they were, two As and one B. Law Preview had so much to do with my first semester success. While other students were trying to figure out how to study and synthesize the coursework, I already had my framework handed to me by Law Preview. While others were spending hours studying the wrong way, I was studying efficiently and effectively because of the tools that I already had before the first day of classes even started. I would recommend Law Preview to anyone who asked (and anyone who didn't). The program gave me the confidence and basic skills I needed to successfully start on the road to what I hope will be a great career. Thanks to Don and everyone at Law Preview!

It helped me focus before going into first year, so I really hit the ground running. I felt less overwhelmed than a lot of other students, knew what to expect, and was ready to work.

Law Preview really did an excellent job of preparing me for the mental rigors and academic challenges that the first semester of law school poses for students. Additionally, it's an excellent way to get in the right frame of mind before actually setting foot on campus - all the other benefits included in the course are simply icing on the cake. [Ranked #15 out of 150 students after first semester].

Law Preview definitely helped prepare me for the difficult first year of law school. It took a lot of the surprise and anxiety out of the first year by giving me a preview of what was to come. I felt like I was already ahead of my classmates on the first day of school. I essentially followed the suggestions of Law preview to the letter and was focused on doing well in my first year. Now I'm in the top ten (10) percent of my class and made Law Review at my school. Law Preview was essential to my success in law school and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to do well in their respective program.

Thank you Law Preview!! I know that I could not have done as well as I did without your program. I tried to stay as close to the schedule as possible (staying ahead on my reading, briefing every case, taking practice exams) and it really paid off [ranked #1]. I would recommend this program to anyone who is entering law school.
—Catherine T., Chapman University School of Law, Class of 2009

One of the greatest benefits of Law Preview was that it took away the anxiety of the unknown. It set you up for what class experience is like, how to read and brief cases, how to prepare for class, and how to take exams. I believe that the experience was very helpful and put me in the right mindset for the amount of work that was required and that understanding the process and big picture put me at an advantage in the first few weeks. . . . overall my GPA ended up as a 3.4 (placing me on the cusp of the top 10% of the class at a school with a forced median of 2.8).
—Anonymous, Chapman University School of Law, Class of 2011

The instructors at the Law Preview program were right-on with their recommendations for test taking and studying. Putting to use their techniques helped me to keep on track and schedule throughout the year and when studying for finals. If nothing else, the Law Preview course gives you an accurate preview of what to expect during your first year in law school, which by itself is worth the cost of attending the program.

Law Preview helped me get to the top of my class and stay there. The experience allows you to be going full speed on the first day of class while other students are still trying to adjust/figure out what is going on. I found Law Preview helpful on so many different fronts that I don't have enough space to explain all of them. I found the overviews of core 1L classes helpful. However, the most helpful thing to me was being in a law school setting with professors calling on people and covering materials that were assigned. It taught me how to brief and gave me a schedule that I followed the entire year. I also found the exam taking and legal writing information very helpful. Overall, it was well worth the money and time to get an edge on other students and help vault me to the top of the class. Staying there after the first year is now my only concern and with the help of Law Preview it is possible.
