About Tasmin's Career
Tasmin attended Law Preview during the summer of 2006 before starting at Northeastern University School of Law where she certainly took full advantage of the school's cooperative education program. In addition to working as a research assistant for one of her professors, Tasmin's worked on criminal and civil matters before the Massachusetts Superior Court during her first year. Then she immersed herself in studying the nexus between human rights policy and the ever-growing field of international business. After getting a taste of transactional law practice as a summer associate at Bingham McCutchen LLP in Boston, she spent her next co-op as a fellow with the Law School's Program on Human Rights and Global Economy, allowing her to learn more about the intersection of transnational business and human rights by working in Private Sector Engagement Unit at Oxfam-America. For her last co-op, she spent a summer in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, working as a United Nations legal intern at the Victims Unit of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia.After graduation, Tasmin worked as a fellow at Northeastern's Civil Rights & Restorative Justice Project before returning to Bingham McCutchen LLP in January 2011 as an associate in its transactional department.
The Law Preview course provides students entering law school with an edge for the first year. With my notes from Law Preview as a resource and a general idea of how to consider the material presented, I was able to focus on the most important material in each course. With all that was new and overwhelming in the first year, this was certainly a comfort and an advantage.
